Ornamaloo® Finally Has a Home of Its Own

Lansing Michigan New Store Ornamaloo The Atrium Building

Six years ago, Ornamaloo® began as an idea carried from popup to popup — tables carefully arranged at markets, events, and art spaces, each filled with pieces chosen not just for beauty, but for story, craftsmanship, and connection.

At the time, we didn’t know exactly where the journey would lead. We only knew we believed that handmade artistry, vintage treasures, and culturally meaningful objects deserved a space where they could be appreciated slowly and intentionally.

Over the years, Ornamaloo® grew one step at a time.

From our early popup events, to becoming part of the creative community at REO Town Marketplace, to sharing space among artists and makers at UnHinged Artz, and later continuing our journey in Middle Village — every chapter helped shape what Ornamaloo® would become.

Each move brought new customers, new conversations, and new friendships. Some of you discovered us while wandering through a market on a Saturday afternoon. Others stopped to ask about a hand-carved gourd, a vintage textile, or the history behind an artisan-made piece and kept coming back because the stories mattered just as much as the objects themselves.

You helped Ornamaloo® grow into more than a shop.

You helped create a community.

And now, after six years of building, learning, adapting, and dreaming…

Ornamaloo® will finally move into a standalone store of its own.

This new space is more than four walls and shelves. It is a reflection of everything we have believed in from the beginning:

  • Preserving craftsmanship

  • Supporting artisans and cultural storytelling

  • Choosing sustainability over mass production

  • Filling homes with meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces

  • Creating connection through art, history, and design

For the first time, we can fully create the experience we always imagined — a space where every corner tells a story and every object invites curiosity.

There is something deeply emotional about reaching this moment. Small businesses rarely grow in straight lines. There were uncertain seasons, exhausting weekends, constant rebuilding, and moments where we simply hoped the next event would lead to the next opportunity.

But this community kept showing up.

You shared our posts. You brought friends. You asked questions. You purchased pieces with intention. You reminded us that there is still value in handmade work, cultural preservation, and surrounding ourselves with objects that mean something.

This store belongs to all of us in many ways.

As we open this next chapter, we hope the new Ornamaloo® space becomes somewhere you can slow down, explore, learn, and discover something unexpected — whether it’s a vintage treasure, artisan craftsmanship, or simply inspiration for your home and life.

Thank you for being part of these first six years.

We cannot wait to welcome you into our new home.

— Ornamaloo®
